Danilith Nokere Koerse Cyclo

On Sunday 13 March 2022, you can enjoy the ideal mix of hills, cobblestones and beautiful sceneries that are on offer throughout the Lys Valley and Zwalm Region. Three days before the pros, you can challenge the Nokereberg and Huisepontweg cobblestones and rack up those metres of elevation climbing some beautiful hills dotted along the course, such as the Holstraat and Wolvenberg.

Danilith Nokere Koerse Cyclo offers the ideal parcours for those who want to get a taste of this semi-classic (70 km), but also for the fervent riders who are looking for a serious challenge to follow in the pros’ tracks (110 or 150 km).

Course

A couple of days before the pros will battle it out for the much-coveted first prize at Danilith Nokere Koerse, you can already start exploring. Will you set off at lightning speed thereby leaving you cycling buddies far behind just like Ludovic Robeet did last year? Or will you overtake them in a sprint on the cobblestones of Nokereberg as in the second women’s edition? Enjoy, cheer and pump those arms in the air as you cross the finish, because Danilith Nokere Koerse Cyclo finish is in the exact same spot!

Danilith Nokere Koerse Cyclo is of course more than just the Nokereberg. After 30 km, the riders covering 110 and 150 km will be setting course for Deinze for 30 flat kilometres. Be sure to enjoy the smooth asphalt because once you pass Gavere, you will quickly be climbing. What follows are a number of hills such as the Holstraat, Bergstraat and Wolvenberg (110 – 150 km), and the not-to-be-missed cherry on the cake are the cobblestones of the Huisepontweg and Nokereberg for the finish. By the time you reach the finish, you will have gathered about 1,340 metres of elevation if you chose the 150 km ride, if you went for the 110 km, you will have bridged approximately 870 metres of elevation. The shortest route, covering 70 km, features slightly fewer hills and about 470 metres of elevation. So, there’s something for everyone!

ETIXX SPORTS NUTRITION

Etixx fuels your goal

Etixx Sports Nutrition offers athletes healthy support for sustainable sport performances. Thanks to our collaboration with Etixx Sports Nutrition, you will be able to enjoy a quality supply of Etixx products (Isotonic, Energy Gel, Energy Sport Bar,…) during your spring classic. In addition, you will also be able to enjoy exclusive promotions and discounts on the Etixx range when you register and after the event. This way we can guide all sportsmen and women with their preparation and in reaching the finish line.

In a higher gear with Etixx

Sufficient training is the key to success, but without a healthy diet and the right sports nutrition before, during and after every ride, it will never be possible to achieve your full potential with training alone. Athletes in general – because of their physical efforts – have a higher need for vitamins and minerals. Additional supplements are therefore highly recommended. The complete range of Etixx sports nutrition and supplements supports you fully at this point, all products comply therefore with the highest quality requirements and have the Informed Sports quality label.

In order to optimally guide the participants in choosing the most suitable sports nutrition in the preparation and during the spring classics, Etixx has developed a page with specific sports nutrition advice for cyclists.

Health

The organisers advise everyone to avoid any form of strenuous physical activity for which they are not adequately prepared. Make sensible choices about the distance you ride and/or the pace you set for yourself.

Anyone who aims to improve performance and compete at a high intensity should see a (specialised sports) physician annually for a check-up. There is no requirement to produce a medical certificate.

It is up to the participant to decide how to use the information resulting from a medical check-up.

The organisers cannot be held liable in this respect.

Do you feel sick, have you a cough, sneeze or fever? Given the current health situation, we advise you to stay at home and not to come to the event.
